Data sources

Every source, with its licence, frequency and real status. Today: 4 with an automatic connector, 6 queried on demand, 4 as a static file and 5 candidates without a connector.

Before connecting a source we review its licence

Data being public doesn't mean it can be redistributed in a paid product. “Allowed under the provider's policy” means the public documentation allows it; final legal validation is pending and shown as “Commercial use verified: no”.Licensing policy

A theoretical 50 km-resolution route network: it doesn't reflect port calls, traffic separation schemes, draughts or each vessel's restrictions.
Review (28 October 2026)
The repository is published under EUPL-1.2, which allows commercial use and requires keeping the notices and licence (copy in /licenses/EUPL-1.2.txt). The network is used unmodified. Known limitations
Half-yearly (energy) and annual (labour cost) national averages, published months late: not the price of a specific contract.
Review (29 October 2026)
Eurostat copyright notice checked on 28/10/2026: reuse “for commercial or non-commercial purposes” if the source is cited and changes are indicated; excludes data for countries outside the EU, EFTA and candidates (which is why only those are queried). The JSON-stat reader has been checked with a real response; the three datasets are pending their first real query.

Known limitations
A price index of registered sales (2025 average = 100): it doesn't give euros per m², isn't a valuation or the price of a specific property, and doesn't capture asking prices or rents.
Review (28 October 2026)
INE legal notice checked on 28/10/2026: general CC BY 4.0 licence, commercial use allowed citing the source (“Own elaboration with data extracted from the INE website: www.ine.es”), stating the update date and without suggesting INE sponsorship. Connector implemented (Property Intelligence); the snapshot's national series was checked against the 222 published annual changes.

Review (4 November 2026)
BIS terms checked on 04/11/2026: free use citing the BIS as the source, provided its inclusion does not result in an additional charge to users (it cannot be part of paid content), without implying BIS endorsement and stating that translations are not official. Legal validation pending.

Review (28 October 2026)
The European Commission authorises reuse of its content, including commercial use, citing the source (Decision 2011/833/EU). Integrated in EnergySim by querying the API from the server with caching. Pending legal review: confirm the API terms don't restrict its use within a paid service.

Attribution
Earthquake data source (ComCat catalogue): U.S. Geological Survey.
Known limitations
Automatic locations and magnitudes are reviewed later. Data arrives minutes late: it isn't a warning system. Outside the US, the USGS mainly records earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or above.
Review (29 October 2026)
The “Crediting USGS” page states: “Most U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) information resides in the Public Domain and may be used without restriction”, and asks for the source to be cited; for value-added uses it suggests “Source of (product or data name): U.S. Geological Survey”. The service returns 429 if abused: queries go through the server cache and a per-IP limit. Format checked with real responses recorded in the usgs/libcomcat tests.
