Initial snapshot data

World Bank edition of 2 October 2026. Monthly averages transcribed from the Pink Sheet PDF editions (Oct. 2025 to Oct. 2026) by the Commodity Pulse project (MIT code). Spot-checked against the official June 2026 edition (Brent, copper, gold and wheat for May 2026: they match). The connector replaces them with the full official workbook (from 1960). As soon as the connector downloads the official workbook you'll see the full published history.

Scenarios, not forecasts

The reference price is an international monthly average in dollars. Your real purchase price includes premiums, transport, exchange rates and contract terms.

Calculation version: market@1.0.0. The calculation runs in your browser and is not sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. 1Choose the commodity: the starting price is filled with the World Bank's latest month (you can change it to your real purchase price).
  2. 2Enter how many units you consume per month, in the SAME unit as the price.
  3. 3Enter your revenue and other monthly costs, and what share of an increase you can pass on to your customers.

How it calculates

  • Commodity cost = consumption × price × (1 + change).
  • Revenue = base revenue + (change in cost × % passed on).
  • Margin = revenue − commodity cost − other costs.
  • Increase that takes the margin to zero = base margin / (base commodity cost × (1 − % passed on)).

Verifiable example

With 1,000 units a month at €10, revenue of €30,000 and other costs of €15,000, with nothing passed on: a 20% increase cuts the margin from €5,000 to €3,000; the margin reaches zero with a 50% increase.

Limitations

  • Demand doesn't change with your selling price and other costs are fixed.
  • World Bank prices are monthly reference averages in dollars: your purchase price includes premiums, transport, currency and terms.
  • The ±30% changes are scenarios, not forecasts.
