How to use it
- 1Choose the country: the latest business electricity and gas prices by consumption band and the hourly labour cost by sector are shown.
- 2Press “Use in the unit cost” to take the value to the tool, which will mark it as a published price.
How it calculates
- Electricity (nrg_pc_205) and gas (nrg_pc_203): half-yearly average price excluding VAT and recoverable taxes, by annual consumption band. Gas published per GJ is converted to kWh (1 GJ = 277.78 kWh).
- Labour cost (lc_lci_lev): cost per hour worked (wages, contributions and taxes, minus subsidies), by NACE Rev. 2 sector.
Verifiable example
For a plant with annual consumption of 500 to 1,999 MWh, the electricity band “IC” is the reference; your real tariff will depend on the contract and consumption profile.
Limitations
- They're published national averages, not your contract price.
- Only the EU, EFTA and candidate countries: Eurostat doesn't allow commercial use of other countries' data.
- Energy prices are half-yearly and published several months late.
